Why Use Lithium-Ion Batteries?

Longer Lifespan and Less Maintenance

Lithium-ion batteries can last up to four times as long as lead-acid batteries. They also require much less maintenance — which means workers spend less time and labor swapping out lead acid batteries or rewatering them.

Less Wasted Energy

Lithium-ion batteries are also much more efficient. Lead acid batteries burn off between 45-50 percent of their energy in heat, while lithium-ion batteries lose only 10-15 percent.

Lithium-Ion Batteries Are Better For Worker Safety

Splashes from harmful acid and hydrogen off-gassing are health and safety concerns for businesses operating forklifts or scissor lifts with traditional lead acid batteries. These concerns are virtually eliminated with lithium-ion batteries.

Charging On Demand

Lithium-ion batteries allow workers to charge forklifts and scissor lifts whenever it’s needed, such as during breaks or in between tasks for as many times as is necessary. However, this same practice can significantly shorten the life of a lead acid battery.

Other benefits of lithium-ion batteries include their compact size, making it easy to store them in smaller warehouses, and they have a longer operating life per charge compared to lead acid batteries for increased worker productivity.
